UuDam Tran Nguyen was born in 1977 in Kon Tum, Vietnam, and earned his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Working across video, performance, sculpture, and new media, his practice is playful and culturally layered — rooted in Vietnam while shaped by nearly two decades in the United States. His long-running project Time Boomerang (begun 2013) has been exhibited internationally, earning him the Jury Selection Prize at Japan Media Art Festival 2015 and shows at institutions from the Whitechapel Gallery to the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.
