Tran Quang Dai lives, studies and works in london. he travels the world. a multidisciplinary artist, public figure, international model, and law graduate from ulaw hcmc in ip law, he uses canvas as a medium to communicate imperfect coexisting memories. although Quang Dai's portraits are painted from real subjects, they are decidedly non-figurative, intensely produced and vigorous in expression.

while his paintings are detached from technique, concept, or theory, insisting instead on clumsiness and raw emotion. his present work is engaged more with text, themes of national/racial identity, law, pedagogy, conceptualism and trite obfuscation of the self.

"how are you these days?" brought the already well-known Dai his first taste of public exposure as an artist and received widespread attention. he thrust himself into the art world, with constant solo exhibitions with this series, which reflects upon this ubiquitous experience/psychological concept wherein one is asked a question over and over again as a polite formality, or a conversation starter.

how are you these days? has drawn attention from his vast network, his followers and critics, putting the conversation "of what constitutes art?" to a larger audience in vietnam than any exhibition to date. his passion, bravery and hard work were large factors leading to his being first vietnamese artist to have a solo exhibition in moca bangkok.

Tran Quang Dai presently is pursuing masters studies at the royal college of art in london.
