sao la is a non-profit independent art collective in southern vietnam. founded in 2014 as an initiative of galerie quynh, it has since grown into an independent collective led by artist nguyễn kim tố lan and đà lạt-based artist nguyễn đức đạt. it describes itself as a space traveler, not fixed to any single location, and centres on the relationships among artists, community, and art itself. its aims are to make contemporary art accessible to the vietnamese public through educational programs, and to nurture the local creative community through exhibitions, film screenings, workshops, and lectures. since 2020 it has run cù rú, a gathering space for experimental art based in đà lạt.
