phụ lục (the appendix group) is a performance art collective founded in 2010 in hanoi by nguyễn huy an, vũ đức toàn, nguyễn song, ngô thành bắc, hoàng minh đức and nguyễn dương hải đăng. the group is known for durational performances staged in abstract settings, using ordinary objects as allegorical props and working through spare, deliberate gesture to reach both social questions and personal ones. it is among the few collectives in vietnam to have sustained a performance practice over that span, and it has taken on a mentoring role for younger artists. its line-up is not fixed — the artists taking part change from project to project. phụ lục has shown at performance art events in vietnam and internationally.
