paul tas is a dutch instrument maker and musician, and the founder of errorinstruments, a maker of handmade noise and synth modules. errorinstruments is known in the modular synth scene for raw, playful and deliberately chaotic instruments, from glitch and drone oscillators such as the liquid glitcher and lucifer to the spanky noise drum and the punk resonator, and regularly shows new work at superbooth in berlin, the main international fair for modular synthesizers. alongside building instruments, paul performs live modular noise and releases music on bandcamp, including the album enter the lo-fi future. his audiovisual performance, the komorebi experiment, captures the hidden electromagnetic signals of flickering lamps, motors and circuits and turns them into music. he also leads soldering workshops in which participants build a working instrument of their own, such as the cloudbusting synth, inspired by the handmade, touch-played instruments of ciat-lonbarde. in vietnam he has performed and led workshops in hanoi with tri minh and đào anh khánh.
