Nguyễn Trinh Thi is a Hanoi-based filmmaker and media artist working at the intersection of film, video art, installation, and sound. Her practice investigates memory and listening as forces capable of surfacing displaced or misrepresented histories, with ongoing concerns around landscape, indigeneity, and ecology in Vietnam. She founded Hi-DEFF in 2007 and Hanoi DocLab in 2009, and her work has been shown at Venice Biennale, documenta 15, and the São Paulo Bienal.
