mr. bambii (chinese-vietnamese, b. 1993, ho chi minh city) is a multimedia artist who began as a poet before turning to performance art as a means of living the body of his poetry. wax has become his primary sculpting material — a landscape for visual poetry. as a performance artist he collaborates across disciplines with poets, sound artists, musicians, contemporary dancers, and opera performers. his practice extends to art direction, curation, exhibition production, interior design, set design, and collecting. in 2019 he founded 289e, an underground art space in ho chi minh city that hosted over 100 shows and 15 exhibitions before closing during the pandemic. in 2022 he established ao hõi fine art museum, a foundation dedicated to art conservation. associated with MoT+++ and the a.farm residency.
