Lan Anh Lê (1993–2020, Vietnam) was a multidisciplinary artist focusing on oral history, mythology, and public cultures of memory. She investigated relationships between mythology, ecological formations, and diverse cultural expressions of cosmic relationships. She earned a BA in Ethnicity Studies from Stanford University in 2015 before relocating to Ho Chi Minh City.
For Lananh, artmaking was a psychological healing tool and her own meditative process, highly linked to ancestral worship and the search for spiritual order in a world full of chaos. Her practice lay between multimedia experimentation and art therapy, aiming to heal cynical disillusions through fantastical reveries and magical escapisms.
