Pug (Alex Williams) is a transnational multidisciplinary artist hailing from Djillang/Geelong, Australia. Williams’ practice centres on the collection and transformation of reclaimed materials into immersive sound sculptural installations. His work delves into the ritualistic and transformative potential of materials, creating environments that foster curiosity, play and speculative thought. Through deep listening and interactive performances, he explores themes of creative intuition, artistic process, urbanisation, and the complex relationships between land, politics, and the human psyche. Williams’ has lived and exhibited in Hanoi, Dublin and Melbourne in the years since 2019 and graduated from RMIT Melbourne with his BFA in Sculpture in 2023. In 2025 he will return to Australia, extending his research and practice through further study.
