‘when termites are threatened or disturbed, they communicate by banging their heads against the walls of their tunnels. this creates a dry rattling that human ears can hear. termites, however, cannot hear audible noise, they react to the vibration they feel..’

MoT is an experimental sound project delivering artists and audiences from their daily auditory experiences. each session will feature a series of performances from local and international sound artists. pieces will vary greatly, but together they hope to offer and encourage conceptual sonic expression unfettered by genre-based preconditions. MoT gives producers an exceptional freedom to explore the textural and performative aspects of their work, both of which are unfortunately static in most live sound/music shows. MoT merges sound and art to consider the possibilities of experimentation and performance. different blends of chance elements, improvisation, and composition, coupled with diverse instruments of production, will investigate our relation to the audible world, and how that relationship might change when experienced collectively. MoT is organized by MoT+++, a non-profit independent project space for contemporary art. entrance fee could be free or not depending on the venue we can afford to get each time. if you are an artist, of any kind, that would like to be involved in the project please email us at info@motplus.xyz or via Facebook. we are looking for all types of performance that relate in some way to sound.
