Hoàng Vũ

Hoàng Vũ_somethingmaker (b.1996, Mekong Delta, Vietnam), based in Saigon (HCMC), is a multidisciplinary artist working across sound, poetry, visual arts. His works often revolve around atmosphere, phenomena, and a state of suspension — at times dense, tense, and aggressive; at others fragile, ephemeral, and adrift. His sound works have been performed and presented at Nhạc Gãy, Tắm Đêm_nightswim, Liminal Dream, and MoTsound, and broadcast internationally via Montez Press Radio (New York) and 80000 Radio (Munich). His most recent collaborative organize/performance was with Montez Radio (NYC), as part of Montez Press Art – a 2024 ACC grantee. There, he improvised with engine noise alongside participants chanting poetry on the boat. He published poetry in Noone Magazine issue 2 (Vietnam–Netherlands) and participated in group exhibitions spanning painting and visual art at Nổ Cái Bùm Art Festival, Moiland (Đà Lạt), A.Song (Đà Nẵng), MoT+++, and A.Farm (Sài Gòn). Vũ is co-organizing of Tắm Đêm_nightswim—a fluid platform for sound, poetry, and performance. Technician at MoT+++/A.Farm—an artist-run residency in partnership with Goethe-Institut HCMC.
Previously, he was also part of the Cù Rú Bar/Saola community and worked as a senior video game concept artist and animator.
