introduction | events | artists-in-residence | guest artists
following the six-month focus last year, MoT+++’s performance art programme returned as performance plus 2019 from November 18 – December 22. the programme is characterised by events with multiple and simultaneous performances in a symposium style exploration of the performance medium.
performance plus 2019 saw MoT+++ once again open as a platform for performance art. the experimental programme challenges the concept of performance, and encourages artists to challenge the definition and boundaries of the medium. the programme provides opportunity for any artist or individual to perform or present work relating to performance experimentation.
over the course of five weeks, MoT+++ hosted 33 visiting and local resident and guest artists to take part in the programme. visiting artists stayed in residence at MoT+++’s partner organisation, A. Farm, an international art residency space in Saigon. participants joined the platform through a mixture of invitation and an international Open Call, with artists joining from America, England, Belgium, France, Japan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
the inaugural six-month 2018 programme saw an incredibly diverse range of performances and performative activities from a mixture of local and visiting artists. artists that joined as a resident included Phu Luc, Aliansyah Caniago, Enkhbold Togmidshiirev and Lai Dieu Ha. the programme hosted over 30 events featuring planned and spontaneous performances, public workshops and artist presentations that took place at MoT+++ and other satellite locations.
